Faux Brick and Wall Finish--Kitchen
The illusion of age was created by simulating old plaster breaking away from its underbase, exposing a foundation of brickwork. The effect was acheived by carving each brick into the plaster and then hand painting. Mortar was simulated by using textured paint to create a rough surface. The first reaction of most people is to touch it and ask "How'd you do that?" The aged wall finish was created using multiple layers of oil base glazes and paints.
Plaster and Paint-Living Room
The finish on these walls was created using a combination of plaster and paint. A Spanish texture was the first step with oil base glaze and two colors of paint applied in multiple layers. The result is a finish similar to that of a leather bound book. The remaining walls were finished in a textured called Spanish Lace and painted with a wash of oil base glaze and paint.
